Quadessy RF Microneedling Case Study

24 April 2026

Client background and why Quadessy

The client presented at Flourish Skin and Laser Clinic (Toowong) with uneven skin texture across the cheeks and forehead, visible pore appearance, and early signs of laxity along the lower face. A home regimen of retinoid serum and vitamin C, alongside a course of superficial peels, had refined surface tone but left deeper structural concerns unchanged.

Quadessy is a radiofrequency microneedling platform from Classys, the Korean manufacturer behind the Ultraformer HIFU range. Fine needles deliver fractional bipolar RF energy into the dermis, while surface electrodes on the tip preheat the upper skin before the needles fire. Controlled thermal energy is distributed across multiple depths in a single pass, designed to stimulate collagen and elastin remodelling over the weeks that follow. For this client’s combination of textural unevenness and mild laxity, Quadessy was a reasonable match. The Registered Nurse reviewed alternatives at consultation and documented a full risk discussion including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, transient redness, pinpoint bleeding, and two to five days of visible downtime.

The treatment plan

The plan set out a course of [CLINIC TO CONFIRM: number] sessions spaced [CLINIC TO CONFIRM: interval] apart, consistent with the category standard of three to six sessions at intervals of four to six weeks. Sessions were deferred when recent UV exposure was noted. Topical numbing cream was applied 30 to 45 minutes before each session. Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ was written into the home-care plan from the first session, with retinoids and acid exfoliants paused for five to seven days post-session. Consent was reconfirmed in writing at each photograph.

The journey

Week 0 began with a full skin assessment (Fitzpatrick type, medical history, topical regimen, recent sun exposure, photosensitising medications, keloid and isotretinoin history) and a standardised photograph under fixed studio conditions. Each session followed the same sequence: cleanse, numbing window, treatment, post-treatment balm, debrief. Warmth and redness were expected, with a faint grid pattern visible for 24 to 72 hours. Because collagen remodelling builds gradually, the final photograph was captured at least 12 weeks after the last session. Across the scheduled photographs, skin texture and firmness along the treated areas refined progressively. Many clients on a similar treatment plan experience improvement in the appearance of skin texture and mild laxity. Individual results vary. Multiple sessions required.

Maintenance and ongoing care

Collagen remodelling is not a one-time event. UV, age, hormonal shifts and lifestyle all continue to influence how the skin presents. For this client, ongoing care is daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+, a targeted topical regimen agreed at consultation, and a review at [CLINIC TO CONFIRM: cadence] to assess whether a maintenance session is appropriate. A single maintenance session every 12 months is common practice, not a strict rule.

What this means for people considering Quadessy

Quadessy RF microneedling is designed to stimulate collagen and elastin remodelling at depth. Multiple sessions required to support gradual change. Suitability is individual. It depends on skin type, concern, medical history and response. Active acne or infection at the treatment site, a history of keloid scarring, pregnancy and breastfeeding, recent isotretinoin use, photosensitising medications, pacemakers or metallic implants in the treatment area, and active herpes simplex at the site are all reasons to defer or rule treatment out. The progression in this client’s photographs reflects one response to one treatment plan, delivered by a Registered Nurse under controlled conditions. Your skin and response will be different.

Important information about this case study

Treatment performed: Quadessy RF Microneedling, a fractional bipolar radiofrequency microneedling treatment that delivers controlled heat into the dermis alongside a surface preheat step, designed to support the skin’s natural collagen and elastin remodelling over the weeks that follow.

Common side effects disclosed at consultation include: redness and warmth for 24 to 72 hours, pinpoint bleeding, mild swelling, a transient grid pattern, skin tightness and dryness, mild flaking, temporary sensitivity, bruising, cold sore reactivation in clients with a history of herpes simplex, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (a real and more common consideration in Fitzpatrick IV to VI skin, not a footnote). A full risk profile is reviewed with you in person before any treatment begins.
