Deep Wrinkles & Volume Loss

The lines hold at rest. The mid-face has flattened. Non-surgical treatment can help here, within honest limits, and we will tell you when surgery is the better conversatio

What We Can Help

Established Static Lines

Forehead, frown and marionette lines that no longer soften at rest.

Deep Folds

Pronounced nasolabial folds and deeper creases around the mouth.

Mid-Face Volume Loss

Cheek flattening and loss of structural support across the mid-face.

The Considered Approach to Structural Ageing

Deep wrinkles and volume loss share the same biology, so single-device plans rarely hold up. At Flourish Skin & Laser Clinic, our Registered Nurses sequence an annual deeper treatment (HIFU or monopolar RF) with collagen-stimulating work and skin-quality boosters between visits, over a realistic horizon. Not a substitute for surgical intervention.

Why Our Deep Wrinkle Results Are Different

Combination Protocols

No one device addresses every driver. We layer deeper energy work with collagen stimulation and skin-quality treatment over time.

Honest About Surgery

If your presentation sits beyond what non-surgical treatment can realistically address, we will say so and recommend a surgical conversation.

Realistic Timelines

Collagen remodelling takes 3 to 6 months to see full effect. Maintenance is the plan, not an add-on, and we set that expectation upfront.

FAQ

  • Is HIFU equivalent to a facelift?

No, and we do not describe it that way. HIFU is designed to stimulate collagen and support firmness over time. It is not a substitute for surgical intervention.

  • What is the difference between HIFU, Thermage FLX and RF microneedling?

HIFU uses focused ultrasound to reach the SMAS and deep dermis in a single session. Thermage FLX uses monopolar RF for bulk dermal heating in a single session. RF microneedling uses fine needles to deliver radiofrequency across a short course. Different tools for different goals, and location influences which option is available.

  • How long before I see a visible difference?

Collagen remodelling takes 3 to 6 months to see full effect. Skin often feels different (smoother, firmer) before it looks different. Any change in the first hours or days is mild collagen contraction, not a final outcome.

  • How long do the results last?

Depending on modality, results typically last 12 to 24 months. HIFU sits around 12 to 18 months, monopolar RF around 12 to 24, RF microneedling on annual maintenance, and skin boosters 6 to 12 months per course. Treatment is planned as ongoing maintenance, not a one-off event.

  • Do skin boosters replace lost volume?

No. JuveLook and Rejuran are not dermal fillers. They are designed to support skin quality, collagen and hydration, not to replace volume. Volume-replacement options are a separate service category, discussed only in private consultation.

  • How do I know whether I should see a surgeon?

That is what your consultation is for. Significant established volume loss, heavy jowl descent or pronounced skin redundancy is generally best discussed with a plastic surgeon. If your presentation sits outside what non-surgical treatment can realistically address, we will say so.

  • Who isn't a candidate for these treatments?

Pregnancy and breastfeeding, pacemakers or implanted electronic devices, metal or silicone implants in the area, active infection or herpes simplex, keloid tendency, active isotretinoin use, and recent injectables in the treatment zone are common exclusions. Very thin-skinned patients or significant fat-pad depletion may also be unsuitable for HIFU and deep RF. Suitability is assessed at consultation.

  • Why is combination treatment standard rather than a single device?

Deep wrinkling and volume loss have several drivers (collagen decline, fat-pad repositioning, bone resorption, photoageing). No single device addresses all of them. A credible plan layers deeper energy work, collagen stimulation and skin-quality maintenance, sequenced over a year or longer.

  • Are these treatments safe in Brisbane's climate?

Yes, with sensible photoprotection. Chronic UV exposure is the single largest modifiable driver of structural ageing here, so daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ matters between sessions. Your clinician will set out the at-home rhythm that supports your plan.
